2025 AHA ACLS - 16 Hour Original
This course will be taught in accordance with the 2025 American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Guidelines, reflecting the most current evidence-based updates in advanced cardiovascular life support. The 2025 updates emphasize high-quality CPR, early defibrillation, effective team dynamics, and refined algorithms for cardiac arrest, bradycardia, tachycardia, and post–cardiac arrest care.

ACLS Provider Course (2-Day Initial Course)
This two-day Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Provider Course is designed for healthcare professionals who are seeking initial ACLS certification or whose certification has expired.
Course Format
The 2025 ACLS Provider Course combines pre-course preparation with in-person instruction and hands-on training. Prior to attending the course, participants must complete the required Pre-course Self-Assessment and review the assigned online learning materials. These steps help ensure students arrive prepared to actively participate in classroom discussions and practical skill stations.
During the in-person sessions, instructors guide students through interactive lectures, group discussions, and case-based simulations using manikins and resuscitation equipment. Participants will practice essential resuscitation skills while receiving coaching and real-time feedback from instructors.
Throughout the course, students will demonstrate proficiency in ACLS skills as outlined in the official testing checklists. Participants must also complete and pass the ACLS Provider written examination.
Intended Audience
The ACLS Provider Course is intended for healthcare professionals who either lead or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. Participants commonly include physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers working in emergency response, emergency medicine, critical care, and similar clinical environments.
Course Content
The 2025 ACLS course focuses on the recognition and management of cardiovascular emergencies using a systematic and team-based approach. Key topics include:
-
High-performance resuscitation teams and effective communication
-
High-quality Basic Life Support and CPR performance
-
Systematic assessment and management of cardiopulmonary emergencies
-
Recognition and treatment of life-threatening cardiac rhythms
-
Defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing
-
ACLS medications and advanced interventions including IV/IO access
-
Post–cardiac arrest care and strategies to improve patient outcomes
-
Early recognition and management of stroke and acute coronary syndromes
Skills Expectations
Participants should be familiar with basic resuscitation principles prior to attending the course. During the class, students will practice and demonstrate competency in:
-
Performing high-quality BLS according to current AHA CPR and ECC Guidelines
-
Recognizing and interpreting cardiac rhythms on ECG
-
Understanding ACLS medications and treatment pathways
-
Providing effective bag-mask ventilation and airway management
Course Features
The 2025 ACLS Provider Course, based on the latest American Heart Association Guidelines, emphasizes coordinated team-based resuscitation, structured clinical decision-making, and high-quality CPR. Updated course material highlights improved team dynamics, medication considerations, airway management practices, and the integration of modern resuscitation tools such as point-of-care ultrasound in cardiac arrest management.
Skills Testing
Participants will complete several required skills evaluations throughout the course, including:
-
High-Quality BLS Skills Testing, focusing on effective chest compressions and minimal interruptions
-
Megacode scenarios, where students demonstrate the ability to lead or participate in coordinated resuscitation efforts
Course Completion
Participants who successfully complete all course requirements will receive an American Heart Association ACLS Provider eCard, which is valid for two years.
